Growing up, part of me always wanted to help others. Since age 14,
I would always gravitate toward jobs that offered service or helped people
feel good about themselves. Much like I do today. I have worked as
a summer youth worker, a sales associate at a clothing store, a daycare
teacher at a wonderful child care facility, and because a successful
entrepreneur gave me the opportunity to work in a corporate office, I
was able to gain administrative skills as a secretary. I loved the
experience I received at these jobs but found the demands of being a

Are you prepared to experience life almost alone with few opportunities
of support? Are you prepared to be homeless at some point? Are you energized
enough to catch three buses and two trains back and forth to your baby’s
school, your school, work and then back home? I didn’t think so.
You may have heard a lot of teen parent success stories, but I bet you
did not hear the tragic details about the roads they had to travel to
